Catechesis CCD
Our main goal at Our Lady of Guadalupe is to offer a variety of Faith Formation classes to help support the parents, who are the first and primary teachers of faith to their children. Our catechists, who are volunteers, have attended numerous workshops to help develop their teaching skills and to update their certification.
Faith Formation classes always begin on Catechetical Sunday, which is the third Sunday in September and come to a close on the first Sunday in May. Classes from Pre K to 8th grades are held at Our Lady of Guadalupe CCD building. A Faith Formation class consists of attending a classroom setting then attending the 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe. If a student faithfully attends another Mass, such as, the 8 am or the Saturday vigil Mass at 5 pm, this fulfills their obligation of attending Mass and, therefore, do not need to attend the 12 pm Mass. A school calendar, which shows what Sundays we have class or not, will be given to all of the parents on registration day. During the month of August, please take home a bulletin from the Church. Dates of registrations for classes of Faith Formation, confirmation, and RCIA /RCIC will be posted. You can contact Janie Garibay, Director of Religious Education at 682-2581.
